Korean actress, now director, Moon So-ri received the 2018 Halekulani Career Achievement Award at the Hawaii International Film Festival, which ended last weekend. Moon’s film, “The Running Actress,” premiered at the festival.
Halekulani Maverick Awards went to Awkwafina, the American actress, writer and rapper who starred in “Ocean’s 8” and “Crazy Rich Asians”; and Japanese actor Takumi Saitoh, whose feature-film directorial debut, “Blank 13,” screened at HIFF.
The award for best feature made in Hawaii went to “Bethany Hamilton: Unstoppable,” directed by Aaron Lieber.

Sung-guk runs into Hye-soo at the hospital and is suspicious of her. Ji-hoon introduces Hye-soo as his girlfriend. Sung-guk asks Hye-soo what she found charming about Ji-hoon. She replies that he’s a warm person, making Sung-guk smile. Eun-sung tells the kids who bully her at school that Ji-hoon is her dad.
