Police arrested a 34-year-old woman for allegedly running over two women, ages 30 and 27, with a pickup truck Wednesday night in Kalihi.
It happened on the
1900 block of Kalihi Street, near the intersection with Akahi Street, at 7:15 p.m.,
police said. The suspect was in a red Chevrolet pickup truck and fled the scene.
The suspect and one of
the victims are married. The other woman is the new partner of the suspect’s wife, police said.
Emergency Medical Services responded to the scene, and paramedics treated the victims, who sustained non-life-threatening injuries to their arms, legs and
torsos.
There was conflicting information on the women’s
condition at the time EMS took them to the hospital.
Police said victims were in stable condition while EMS said they were in serious
condition.
Police located the suspected perpetrator at her home on Skyview Loop in Aliamanu at approximately 8:30 p.m. Wednesday and
arrested her on suspicion
of first-degree attempted murder.
Officers also seized her pickup truck as evidence.
Court records indicate the marriage had been tumultuous in recent months.
In May prosecutors charged the suspect on
suspicion of abuse for allegedly punching her wife
in the head and face following an argument.
Family Court Judge Kevin Souza dismissed the abuse charge with prejudice in July after the victim did not appear at a scheduled hearing and refused assistance by the court.
The suspect’s wife had filed a petition for a temporary restraining order against the suspect in September, court records show.
Judge Kristine Yoo dismissed the restraining order without prejudice due to “lack of prosecution” after both the victim and suspect did not appear in court for a scheduled hearing concerning the order.
