Medical aid in dying law takes effect


    Gov. David Ige signed House Bill 2739 “Our Care, Our Choice Act” on April 5. The law was modeled after Oregon’s law. After Ige signed the bill he hugged lobbyist John Radcliffe, who was diagnosed with cancer and who first filed the right-to-die lawsuit.

For the first time, certain terminally ill patients in Hawaii will have the right to end their lives, but it won’t be easy. Read more
