Samantha Lambrigtsen scored 21 points and Breanna Mackenzie finished with 20 points and 10 rebounds as the Hawaii Pacific women’s basketball team defeated Fresno Pacific 79-72 on Friday in Fresno, Calif.
Amy Baum added 18 points for the Sharks (8-5, 6-1 PacWest) as the trio combined to go 21-for-36 from the field. HPU and Dominican are tied for second in the conference standings, a half-game behind Azusa Pacific.
Jessica Malazarte scored 21 points for the Sunbirds (10-4, 6-2), who suffered their first home loss of the season.

Sara Shimizu added 10 points for the Vulcans (4-7, 1-6 PacWest), who led 30-28 at halftime.

UHH men’s hoops beats Academy of Art
Jordan Graves scored 18 points and Kupaa Harrison added 15 as the Hawaii Hilo men’s basketball team beat Academy of Art 83-72 on Friday in San Francisco.
Denhym Brooke added 13 points and Jalen Thompson, Larry Bush and James Griffin each added 12 for the Vulcans (6-5, 4-3 PacWest), who were 28-for-51 from the field and 20-for-23 from the free-throw line.
Andrija Blatancic scored 31 points for the Urban Knights (3-9, 3-4).

UH men’s divers finish first and second
The University of Hawaii’s Max Burman and Grant Newcombe finished 1-2 in the men’s 1-meter diving event at the Wally Nakamoto Diving Invite on Friday at the Duke Kahanamoku Aquatic Complex.
Burman scored a 302.45 and Newcombe posted a 298.95 in the 15-competitor field.
In the women’s 3-meter event, the Rainbow Wahine’s Jami Stone placed fifth with a 264.25. Nebraska’s Abigail Knapton scored a 319.30 to best the 16 other competitors.
