Dean Wilson will become the 74th person inducted into the Hawaii Golf Hall of Fame at the 11th annual Ho‘olaulea Awards ceremony.
The event, presented by Aloha Section PGA and Friends of Hawaii Charities, is Saturday, Feb. 9, from 5:30 p.m at Manoa Grand Ballroom.
The banquet is a “Celebration of Golf in Hawaii,” with the Aloha Section, Hawaii State Golf and Women’s Golf associations, Hawaii State Junior Golf and the Hawaii Golf Course Superintendents all honoring their best players and others dedicated to the game.
Wilson, a Castle High alum who turned 49 last month, won once in a PGA Tour career that lasted a decade and earned him nearly $10 million. Prior to that, he won six times and collected $6 million on the Japan tour.
The Aloha Section will also honor David Ishii with its Ho‘okuleana Award for his “philanthropic work and commitment to growing the game of golf in Hawaii over his lifetime.” Danielle Tucker, host and producer of the Saturday morning Golf Club radio show, will receive its Distinguished Service Award.

Cho gives back at Ko Olina
Online golf coach Aimee Cho waived her appearance fee at her recent clinic at Ko Olina, helping the event raise $2,000 for The Kapiolani Medical Center for Women & Children’s neonatal intensive care unit.
The donation was made in memory of Bella Hope Kalenaolalaulani Rosario and inspired by the Keola and Davianne Rosario family, in honor of their baby daughter.
