City breaks ground on 2 Ewa sewage projects costing $370M

    Mayor Kirk Caldwell and Department of Environmental Services Director Lori Kahikina led a groundbreaking ceremony and blessing Thursday conducted by kahu Kordell Kekoa. Work began on two projects to upgrade the Honouliuli Wastewater Treatment Plant (91-1000 Geiger Road) to a full secondary treatment facility.

The city broke ground Thursday on two projects totaling $370 million that will make the Honouliuli Waste Water Treatment Plant in Ewa a full secondary treatment facility, making it fully compliant with a 2010 federal consent decree as well as state health laws. Read more
