Dangerous surf up to 60 feet and damaging wind gusts over 50 mph are expected

    Honolulu Emergency Services Department Director Jim Howe spoke Friday at the Frank F. Fasi Municipal Building, urging people to stay out of the water if severe weather hits the state.

North Shore residents should be prepared to evacuate this weekend while surf as high as 60 feet could wrap around Oahu all the way to Makapuu and Diamond Head, city officials said Friday. Read more
