ALTRES Staffing held a grand opening Friday for its newest location at 98-1277 Kaahumanu St., Suite 110, at Waimalu Plaza Shopping Center in Aiea.
ALTRES Aiea is open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Friday. The 1,100-square-foot office is considerably larger than the previous location at 850-B Kamehameha Highway and expects to serve 25 percent more job seekers than the former office.
ALTRES Staffing is Hawaii’s largest employment company and has served the islands since 1969.
Hawaii Foodbank CEO to talk at luncheon
Ron Mizutani, former TV newscaster and now CEO and president of Hawaii Foodbank, will outline the efforts of the food bank to distribute food to the needy at an Exchange Club luncheon at noon Thursday at the Oahu Country Club. The cost for guests is $35 cash or $36 with a credit card. Guests are encouraged to bring canned food to donate.

PBS Hawaii has named Jody Shiroma its new vice president of communications. She has 16 years of professional experience, including having served as vice president of marketing and communications for Aloha United Way. Prior to that, Shiroma was an editor-in-chief for Sassy and G Magazine, a local youth publication with more than 25,000 in distribution.
Coldwell Banker Pacific Properties has announced that Alex Hand is a new independent agent for the firm’s Diamond Head, Kahala office. He previously worked in sales and rentals at Associa Hawaii. Hand started his real estate career at a Coldwell Banker affiliate in Fort Lauderdale, Fla.
