Celebrate all things science, technology, engineering and math at the Ellison Onizuka Day of Exploration — April 27 at Blaisdell Exhibition Hall — presented by the Aloha Council, Boy Scouts of America.
“This is the largest STEM event in Hawaii,” said Dr. Neal Atebara, chairman of the event. “Our goal is to encourage Hawaii’s youth to experience the joy and adventure of learning new things.”
Among the offerings: scores of interactive STEM ExploraStations, a Lego zone where participants can build a car and race it down a track, robotics activities and a Jedi light saber academy.
Dozens of STEM workshops will be taught by scientists and educators, Atebara added. The classes require online preregistration. If classes are filled, walk-ins will be accepted for no-show seats.
