Pasta, ramen, saimin, pho … the second-annual Noodle Fest Hawaii celebrates all things noodle-licious, 3 to 9 p.m. Saturday at Victoria Ward Park at Ward Village.
Twenty restaurants will serve noodle dishes from around the world.
Just a taste: garlic shrimp pasta from Big City Diner, pork adobo teriyaki garlic noodles from Burgers on Bishop, truffle ramen from Goma Tei Ramen and Parmesan garlic noodles from Gyozilla.
Even the sweets will have the noodle spirit — Noodle Crunch cookies from Nori’s Saimin & Snacks in Hilo, for example, and ramen-looking rolls of ice cream from Sweet Creams.
Eating contests and entertainment will also be part of the festival.
Admission is free; pay as you eat. Donations of food and cash will be taken for the Hawaii Foodbank.

Indian meal takes it slow
Slow Food O’ahu is hosting an Indian cooking class and dinner from 5 to 7:30 p.m. Sunday.
“Incredible India: Comfort Foods,” will be taught by Gita Kar, a cooking instructor and food consultant who has worked with chefs and traditional cooks in many parts of India.
Kar will share recipes learned from her mother, grandmother and mother-in-law, along with family and cultural stories. Her menu includes rajma chawal, a vegetarian dish made with kidney beans; sesame potatoes with mustard seeds and turmeric; and a cucumber-lime salad.
Cost is $75, $65 for Slow Food members. The class will be held in a private Kailua home. Register at eventbrite.com (search for “Incredible India”).
