Several parking options are being put in place to deal with the anticipated heavy traffic for two Hawaii sporting events Friday and Saturday.
The top-ranked men’s volleyball team is hosting No. 3 UC Santa Barbara in 7 p.m. matches Friday and Saturday at the Stan Sheriff Center, with Saturday being senior night. Baseball is hosting UC Davis in 6:35 p.m. games at Les Murakami.
The UHM Commuter Services department is encouraging fans to utilize the Waialae entrance into lower campus. Besides the lower campus parking structure, alternate parking is available on upper campus in Zones 4 and 13.
There will be free shuttle service along East-West and Correa roads with dropoff at Krauss Circle near Dole Street and the Law School/Library crosswalk.
There will be no shuttle service from the parking structure next to the Hawaiian Studies building.
SandBows stay at No. 6
After going 5-1 at last weekend’s Big West Challenge, Hawaii remained at No. 6 in the AVCA Collegiate Beach Top 20 on Monday.
The Rainbow Wahine (18-7) stayed behind defending national champion UCLA (21-0), which received all 33 votes. The top 14 remained the same, including No. 2 USC (16-3), No. 3 Florida State (17-5), No. 4 LSU (17-5) and No. 5 Pepperdine (16-6).
Cal Poly (15-6), which edged Hawaii 3-2 on Sunday, stayed at No. 7. The Mustangs lost to No. 9 Long Beach State (17-5) on Saturday.
Hawaii has the week off and next hosts the Queen’s Cup on April 13-14 at Queen’s Beach. Also in the field are No. 13 Loyola Marymount (15-7), Washington (6-6) and San Jose State (10-7).
