Hawaii Pacific senior Jordan Curry was named the Pacific West Conference softball pitcher of the week for the third time this season on Monday.
The native of Farmington, N.M., tossed three complete-game shutouts last week in the Turlock Tournament of Champions in California. Curry was selected to the all-tournament team as she led all pitchers in the tournament with 25 innings pitched and an 0.56 ERA.
Curry is 17-6 with 79 strikeouts over 152.2 innings pitched.
Spain takes top PWC pitching award
University of Hawaii Hilo pitcher Dylan Spain received the PacWest Conference baseball pitcher of the week award on Monday.
The Saint Louis alum pitched his first complete game of the year last Saturday, giving up four hits with no walks in a 2-0 seven-inning win against Academy of Art.
UH sailing takes eighth, 11th
The University of Hawaii coed sailing team finished eighth and the women’s team finished 11th in the St. Francis Invitational last weekend in San Francisco Bay.
A total of 22 teams competed with Stanford taking the regatta title with 97 points, followed by UC Santa Barbara (98) and Cal Maritime (111).
