The Kilauea eruption last year has altered the landscape on Hawaii island. Leilani Estates resident Kaonohiokalani Jeremiah sat on the trunk of an ancient ohia tree at her Leilani Estates property last month. The trees and shrubs were damaged by volcanic gas, but the native species are regenerating.
