Richmond, Va.-based Live Well Financial Inc., a reverse and traditional mortgage lender that has an office in Hawaii, ceased operations on May 3.
The Hawaii Division of Financial Institutions said Tuesday it is recommending consumers first contact the company at 888-678-0818 or by email at info@livewellfinancial.com.
“I understand that Live Well Financial wants to provide a smooth transition for their customers,” HDFI Commissioner Iris Ikeda said. “However, communication and outreach to their clients may be slow due to the sudden closure of Live Well Financial. We will continue to actively monitor this situation for consumers who may be doing business with the company and encourage anyone to contact us for further assistance.”
The HDFI can be reached at 808-586-2820 or at dfi@dcca.hawaii.gov.
Rental facility, tram unveiled at Maui airport
A $340 million rental car facility was unveiled Tuesday at Kahului Airport during a blessing ceremony.
The 1.3 million square-foot project features space for rental companies and a two-tram electric train system that will replace two dozen shuttle buses.
Funds for the project came from a daily motor vehicle customer facility charge that was raised from $1 to $4.50 following the 2010 passage of a bill introduced by state Senate Majority Leader J. Kalani English (D, Hana, Upcountry Maui, Molokai, Lanai and Kahoolawe). Construction began in April 2016 and was completed earlier this year.
