Christian Lee captured the One Championship lightweight title belt Friday by stopping Shina Aoki by TKO 51 seconds into the second round in Singapore. The 20-year-old from Mililani joins his sister, Angela, as a world champion in the MMA organization.
Lee was fortunate to be around long enough to win his third bout in a row and raise his record to 11-3. Aoki had him in a nice arm bar that Lee managed to escape to get a chance at the victory in the following round. Lee cut loose with a variety of punches that led to the stoppage of the lightweight fight.
Angela Lee lost a title fight to strawweight champion Xiong Jing Nan on March 31 to drop to 9-1. She is expected to defend her atomweight title soon.
