Saint Louis forward Skyler Goo on Thursday was named the 2018-19 Gatorade Hawaii boys soccer player of the year.
Goo, who will play for UNLV in the fall, scored 23 goals this past season and led the Crusaders (10-3-2) to the Division II state championship game.
The award recognizes athletic excellence, academic achievement and exemplary character on and off the field.
Goo, who maintained a 3.10 GPA, volunteered with the Blood Bank of Hawaii and the Waikiki Hungry Ministries.
Bryan brothers to hold tennis camp
Royal Lahaina Tennis Ranch will host an exclusive High Powered Doubles Tennis Camp, featuring legendary doubles players Bob and Mike Bryan, from Sept. 25 to 29.
The Bryan brothers held the world No. 1 doubles ranking longer than any other team. Olympic coach Tom Gullikson also will attend the camp, which is for players with a 3.5 to 5.5 rating.
The cost for the camp is $3,795 per person for double-occupancy accommodations and $3,995 for single-occupancy accommodations. It includes a four-night stay at the Royal Lahaina Resort.
