The parent company of Central Pacific Bank said Thursday its board has authorized the repurchase of up to $30 million of its outstanding common stock.
The authorization will supersede the remaining repurchase authority under the company’s prior buyback program.
Central Pacific Financial Corp.’s stock dipped 10 cents Thursday to close at $28.48. It shares are up 17% this year.
The buyback announcement was made after the market closed.

>> Morgan Stanley has announced that Grant Kubota was named to Forbes Magazine’s 2019 list of America’s Best-in-State Wealth Advisors. Kubota is a senior vice president and financial adviser at Morgan Stanley’s Honolulu Wealth Management office.
>> The Honolulu Museum of Art has announced that Kevin Imanaka has joined its senior management team as a chief communications officer. His responsibilities include leading the museum’s branding, communications and marketing initiatives as well as overseeing the strategic planning and related communications efforts. Imanaka was previously director of strategic communications at Kamehameha Schools and held senior communication positions at Kaiser Permanente Hawaii and Hawaiian Airlines.
