Former Hawaii men’s basketball forward Noah Allen was named Wednesday to the Washington Wizards’ NBA Summer League squad playing in Las Vegas beginning Saturday.
Allen, an All-Big West selection in his lone season in Manoa in 2016-17, played for the Wizards’ G League team, the Capital City Go-Go, in 2018-19 averaging 9.5 points, 5.8 rebounds and 2.4 assists per game.
The Wizards’ summer roster features their first-round draft pick Rui Hachimura out of Gonzaga and second-rounder Admiral Schofield from Tennessee.
“I’m just excited and blessed for the opportunity and hope to make the most of it,” Allen messaged the Honolulu Star-Advertiser.
The Wizards open with the New Orleans Pelicans and No. 1 draft pick Zion Williamson at UNLV’s Thomas & Mack Center in an ESPN-televised game at 4 p.m. Saturday. The Wizards will play three more preliminary-round games through next Thursday in an attempt to make the eight-team summer playoffs.
