This quilt was begun in the 1930s by an unknown quilter and finished by Ric Stark, one of the few male Hawaiian quilters today. The original quilter did the hand applique and Stark completed the hand quilting in 2007. The name of the pattern is “Ke Kukui O Lanikaula,” and it was designed by Violet Hue.
