The 60th Hawaiian International Billfish Tournament began on Monday in Kona with father and son team Laguna Niguel Billfish Club-Firestein in the lead.
Captain Martin Firestein and son Mitchel Firestein lead the 41-team tournament after catching and releasing four Pacific blue marlin, earning 1,200 points.
Behind them are Houston Big Game Fishing Club with 700 points, Lizard Island Game Fish Club with 600 points, and Palau National Marine Sanctuary with 550 points.
Rounding out the top five is Hawke’s Bay Game Fishing Club with 400 points.
