Congrats to Wailuku’s world-class baseball standouts. Central Maui did Hawaii proud in this year’s Little League World Series, remaining undefeated in the 16-team tournament until Saturday’s U.S. championship game. The Williamsport, Pa., event is reserved for players ages 10-12.
In the 13-16 age bracket, earlier this month, the Central East Maui Little League All-Stars won the Senior League World Series international tournament title in Easley, S.C., beating Willemstad, Curacao, 11-0. That win marked Hawaii’s first-ever championship in the annual series, which launched in the early 1960s.
UH football makes its case for fans

The already rousing game ended at the 1-yard line, with the UH defense stopping the rival quarterback’s run to avert a likely tie that would’ve sent the game into OT. Whew.
Next up: Hawaii vs. Oregon State on Sept. 7, at 6 p.m. Show up at Aloha Stadium to show confidence for more odds-defying games this UH season.
