When Harry B. Soria Jr. introduced “Territorial Airwaves” on KCCN-AM (AM940) in 1979, local interest in the Hawaiian and hapa-haole music from the state’s territorial era was at an all-time low — or so it seemed. “Territorial Airwaves” celebrated its 40th anniversary in June 2019.
“Territorial Airwaves” airs at noon Friday and 5 p.m. Sunday on AM940. It can also be heard at territorialairwaves.com.
