    Michael Chung, shown in 1999, pitched for the University of Hawaii baseball team from 1981 to ’83. He overcame a severe injury to become a businessman selling back support devices. He named his dog after Lou Gehrig.

He was cut from the University of Hawaii baseball team one season, demoted to the junior varsity squad another year and was a victim of a horrendous traffic accident that left him a quadriplegic four months after graduation. Read more
