MURPHY’S KEEPS TURKEY GIVING GOING
Murphy’s Bar & Grill’s Turkey Tailgate, an annual food drive, is going virtual this year. Instead of collecting turkeys for a day and hosting a block party at night, Murphy’s is collecting monetary donations online through Nov. 19, with a goal of raising $5,000 for the Hawaii Foodbank.
Don and Marion Murphy will match the first $1,000 given. To donate: Go to 808ne.ws/turkeytailgate, or text “MURPHYS” to 80888.
SCHOOL BENEFIT PAYS IT FORWARD
If you’re looking for a meal over the next couple of weeks, consider a restaurant participating in Island Pacific Academy’s Plate It Forward campaign.
Each day through Nov. 22, a different restaurant will donate a portion of its sales to the Kapolei school. The drive begins today with Tanioka’s Seafood & Catering. Most restaurants are in the neighborhood, although a couple of town restaurants are joining in. Domino’s Pizza will donate for the entire 11 days.
The school will pass on a portion of what it receives to The Pantry, by Feeding Hawaii Together.

MCDONALD HOUSE GALA GOES VIRTUAL
Ronald McDonald House Charities Hawaii maintains the spirit of its Share A Night benefit gala and silent auction with a virtual event Nov. 22.
For the gala part: Takeout dinner packages are available from Roy’s Ko Olina and Hawaii Kai restaurants, MW Restaurant, Bamboo Catering, Goen Dining + Bar and 3660 on the Rise. Menus, for two to 10 people, vary from $300 to $5,000, for pickup on the 22nd.
At 6:30 p.m., an online program of entertainment and silent auction bidding will begin. The silent auction actually goes live on Monday, with travel, wine, jewelry, clothing and art offerings.
