WCC CLASSES TEACH FESTIVE BAKING
Get into the holiday spirit with classes on baking festive cakes, cookies and other goodies, held in person, not online, at Windward Community College.
Classes run Nov. 27 to Dec. 30 and are limited to nine participants each. Anyone over age 11 with an interest in all things baking may sign up for one-, two- or three-day “camps,” ranging in cost from $100 to $285.
Each session runs six hours, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., at the college’s Hale ‘Akoakoa Cafeteria. Instructors are Daniel Swift and Thelma Howland.
Lunch will be provided during 30-minute breaks. Participants must wear face masks, covered shoes and long pants, and may bring personal items, such as aprons, towels and containers to hold finished products.

MEALS TO GO IN KAKAAKO
Honolulu Baking Co., creator of the Original Oatcake made famous at Starbucks more than 20 years ago, is launching an online meals-to-go shop, Kakaako Eats.
Freshly made meals, with vegetarian and vegan options, will be available for pickup at the bakery, 532 Ahui St., beginning Nov. 30. The menu will change weekly. And, yes, the oatcakes are available, at six for $11.49.
Free delivery will be offered to select Kakaako condominiums; GrubHub will provide delivery outside the area.
In the meantime, get a preview of what’s to come with a Kakaako Eats’ Thanksgiving meal of turkey and all the fixings — $179 to serve four to six or $90 to serve two. To order call 596-2556 or email natalie@honolulubaking.com by Monday.
A thermal bag will come with each Thanksgiving meal purchased. Customers will be given a 10% discount whenever the bag is reused.
