Sexual assault suspect should not be free
Why is he free on bail — the alleged perpetrator of a horrific and almost fatal sexual assault (“Attempted murder and sex assault suspect, 31, free after posting $500K bail,” Star-Advertiser, Top News, Nov. 25)?
The victim may never heal from the physical and emotional trauma. Someone please make the judicial system protect the innocent!

Send clear message with punishment of Kealohas
In reference to the Kealoha sentencing (“Ex-prosecutor Katherine Kealoha writes of drug addiction in sentencing letter,” Star-Advertiser, Nov. 24): One of the former top prosecutors? An example needs to be made. Triple the sentence for trying to claim drug addiction and apologizing for her behavior.
As for her husband, he should have been wise to what was going on; after all, he was the top cop!
The prosecutor needs to make an example of these criminals and send a message that people in power will be prosecuted and sentenced to the full extent of the law, with no exceptions.

Returning travelers experience rudeness
We arrived in Honolulu in October and what we experienced did not have an ounce of aloha. Everyone who deplaned did not know where to go and what to expect.
It was a little frightening not knowing if we were going to the right place for the COVID-19 instructions. When we finally arrived to where the workers give instructions, we were not treated with respect. Ladies were rude, condescending and incorrect information was given.
We hope tourists will overlook this treatment, forgive us, and come back. With a vaccine right around the corner, maybe entry into Hawaii will be easier and friendlier. After a long flight, we don’t need the added stress.

Target distribution of COVID-19 vaccine
With the successful development and eventual rollout of Pfizer and Moderna vaccines and the multi-millions invested, each vaccine should be distributed according to their best use — Pfizer for those areas that have access to modern facilities, Moderna for rural and less developed areas.
This will allow each to be utilized for their strengths, help the companies to recoup investments and also allow independent long-term studies for vaccine effectiveness, side effects and more.
