Study tries to revive Ala Wai flood project, which has lost more than $200 million in federal support

                                The city is starting a new study on how to prevent flooding of the Ala Wai Canal. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers’ Ala Wai Flood Risk Management Project hit a roadblock in January when the corps confirmed that costs had nearly doubled to $651 million. An outrigger canoe plied the waters of the Ala Wai Canal on Monday.
