Raising Cane’s Chicken Fingers opened its first Waikiki location Tuesday in the Pa‘ina Lanai Food Court at Royal Hawaiian Center in Waikiki.
This restaurant marks the sixth Raising Cane’s on Oahu and the second location in a food court, the first being at Ala Moana Center. This restaurant joins the brand’s Kapolei, Mililani and Hawaii Kai drive-thru restaurants and the original King Street restaurant near the University of Hawaii.
The restaurant hired nearly 50 employees.
The Royal Hawaiian Center restaurant will be open daily from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m.
Kaiser donates $300K for homeless veterans
Kaiser Permanente Hawaii announced Monday a $300,000 grant to Partners in Care, a planning, coordinating and advocacy alliance on Oahu that develops recommendations for programs and services to address the needs of individuals experiencing homelessness. The grant is part of Kaiser Permanente and Community Solutions’ Built for Zero initiative, which aims to accelerate efforts to end chronic homelessness among veterans in communities Kaiser Permanente serves.
The funding will go toward Partners in Care’s Built for Zero Veteran Landlord Engagement Program. By creating a centralized landlord engagement and unit acquisition program, Partners in Care will bring landlords and veterans’ homeless service providers together to provide housing assistance to at least 95 veterans on Oahu.
NortonLifeLock to buy Avast for up to $8.6B
NortonLifeLock Inc. agreed to buy Avast Plc in a deal valued at as much as $8.6 billion, giving the U.S. cybersecurity company access to one of the biggest customer bases in the industry.
High-profile ransomware attacks on large companies and infrastructure providers have increased demand for software to guard against hackers.
Avast stockholders will receive cash and shares that value the deal at $8.1 billion to $8.6 billion, the companies said Tuesday. Once the merger is completed, NortonLifeLock Chief Executive Officer Vincent Pilette will remain CEO, and the company will have dual headquarters in Tempe, Ariz., and Prague.
