Wasn’t it just yesterday when Christmas revelers were hauling their fresh Yule trees — or quasi-fresh, anyway — into the house? Now the Tannenbaum has faded to brown and is longing to return to the Earth.
So let’s do it a favor. The city’s “treecycling” program requests that it be cut to fit the green-waste bins, for those who have them. Those who have the manual curbside collections can cut the tree into 3-foot lengths and bundle them at the curb on refuse day. Mother Nature thanks you.
