Were it repaired, I would not likely ever climb the Stairway to Heaven.
But with all the stupid things the city government does with taxpayer money, I would think that instead of spending $1 million or more to remove the Haiku Stairs, it could spend at least that amount making them safely accessible (“City reviewing bid to remove Haiku Stairs on Oahu,” Star-Advertiser, June 13).
