Looking for new dining options around town? Check out the following:
A new tasting menu
Herringbone Waikiki (2330 Kalakaua Ave. Ste. 3) recently launched a three-course tasting menu ($58 per person, optional $25 wine pairing available). Start with green papaya salad with Thai Chile vinaigrette; housemade scallion bao buns filled with Duroc pork belly, hoisin sauce and scallions; and “Chinese style” steamed fish. The latter features onaga topped with lap cheong, Chinese black beans, Chinese black fungus mushrooms, choy sum, onions, red peppers, ginger, soy sauce, garlic, cilantro, scallions and peanut oil. End with your choice of assorted gelato for dessert.

Kaimuki’s new bake shop
Aloha Bakehouse & Cafe (3398 Waialae Ave.) opened another location in Kaimuki. The biz is known for its coffee beverages — like Latte Aloha and coconut mocha — and Aloha Breads, or square-shaped calzones that are panini-grilled to order in flavors like Meatlover, mushroom and olive and spinach and cheese. Scones ($3.50) are especially popular and come in flavors like chocolate mac nut, strawberry, matcha and blueberry.
