It seems ill-advised to resist offers of trailers from the Federal Emergency Management Agency. Granted that they are not architectural gems, they do offer immediate sanctuary to families who survived the Aug. 8 Maui wildfires.
Building homes will take several years, during which time the greedy investors in Maui are asking exorbitant prices for housing.
