Employers and job-seekers attended the Star-Advertiser’s Hawaii Career Expo in January at the Neal Blaisdell Center Exhibition Hall in Honolulu. The next Career Expo is set for Wednesday at the exhibition hall.

The Hawaii Career Expo returns to the Neal Blaisdell Center Exhibition Hall Wednesday as many of the state’s top employers seek to fill open positions with the best candidates.

Sponsored by the Honolulu Star-Advertiser and hosted by Star Events, the free event will showcase jobs with over 100 employers representing a range of sectors and industries, organizers said. It provides candidates with a chance to meet one-on-one with recruiters looking for qualified employees and learn more about available jobs.

“Each year, thousands of people participate in our career expos to connect with hundreds of recruiters and human resources professionals from across the state,” said Denise Ching, director of Star Events. “This year, we’re excited to feature career opportunities in a wide variety of fields, including law enforcement, construction, nursing, food service, tourism and hospitality, financial services, emergency services, retail, technology, transportation and many more.”

The Career Expo runs from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the exhibition hall. Attendees may present a printed copy of their resume at the front door for free admission. Preregistration is recommended at hawaiicareerexpo.com.

Job-seekers also are invited to free resume workshops presented by City and County of Honolulu’s Department of Community Services on Tuesday from 9 to 11 a.m. and 1 to 3 p.m. at the Dole Cannery Office Building, 680 Iwilei Road, Suite 700.

The workshops offer help in creating, updating and printing resumes before attending the Career Expo. To register for the workshops, go to honolulu.gov/dcs/workhawaii.
