There are those who oppose traffic cameras and other monitoring equipment used by law enforcement agencies, citing infringement of privacy. Hey, once you leave your home, you’re in the eyes of the public.
Crime is rampant and there’s not enough law enforcement personnel. Commercial businesses are using cameras — are they infringing on your privacy? The caveat to using these cameras is whether the information obtained is illegally used or misused. Crime, including shoplifting, is a hidden cost that affects all of us, and not just in our pockets.
