I’m on the threshold of 90 years on our planet and I now see another potential doomsday scenario. In a recent Star-Advertiser edition, it was reported that the U.S. has announced it has deployed weapons that can be launched from space (“U.S. deploys weapons in space to contend with Russia, China,” Sept. 16).
At the same time, the builders of AI have announced that there is super intelligent software that they cannot control. They said they have discovered several rogue AI systems, and over 1,000 incidents of them hacking into other computer networks.
The new doomsday scenario is obvious. A rogue AI computer hacks the U.S. space weapons system, and boom. It’s obviously time to stop AI development, now.
