Many of the elderly population recently received notification from Medicare Advantage, notifying them of premium changes effective January 2027. In itself it is self-explanatory, but for kupuna who don’t have family to depend on or confer with, it is very frustrating.
Luckily for our parent and ourselves, we can discuss and make a decision. I am thinking of the population that might not understand it or might not even receive it due to moving or other events.
What then? They will slip through the cracks and when coverage or prescribed drugs are needed, they won’t have them. Getting older is challenging enough, but why take from the poorest to improve profit margins of corporations?
