Suspect in stolen motorcycle case allegedly discards pipe, meth in police car

A 42-year-old man who was arrested for investigation of driving a stolen motorcycle in the Kapahulu area early this morning allegedly discarded a glass pipe and a substance resembling crystal methamphetamine in the back of a Honolulu police patrol car while being taken in to be booked, police said today.

The man was booked on suspicion of driving a stolen vehicle, driving without a license, promoting a dangerous drug and prohibited acts related to drug paraphernalia.

The man, who has a Vineyard Boulevard address, was stopped at 1:44 a.m. today when an officer saw him riding a motorcycle with an expired safety check, police said. 

He was being taken to the Central Receiving Division to be booked when the officer discovered a clear glass pipe and white substance in the patrol car, police said.
