Jonas Umlauft put down 15 kills but it was not enough as No. 8 Hawaii fell to top-ranked USC 25-20, 28-26, 25-22 tonight in a Mountain Pacific Sports Federation men’s volleyball match at the Stan Sheriff Center.

Tony Ciarelli put down 17 kills as the Trojans (19-2, 18-2) spoiled Hawaii’s senior night for Joshua Walker, Nejc Zemljak and Brennon Dyer.

Walker finished with eight kills and two aces for the Warriors (15-12, 13-9) in their regular-season finale.

The loss ended Hawaii’s hope of hosting a first-round MPSF tournament match in two weeks. The Warriors likely will travel to UC Irvine on April 23. .
