CTY FILIPINO CHURCH - 11 JULY 2012 - Rev. Odette Moncado-Carrasquillo stood in front of a statue of her grandfather, Dr. Hilario Camino Moncado, in Kalihi Valley where he established a church in 1946. The Filipino church will be added to the Hawaii Register of Historic Places and was built by members of the Filipino Federation of America. It was the focal point for Moncado Village, a community where dozens of federation members settled in the 1950s. Honolulu Star-Advertiser photo by Cindy Ellen Russell
