7 brush fires burn in Nanakuli
Firefighters spent three hours early Wednesday putting out seven brush fires in Nanakuli Valley that appeared to have been intentionally set.
Capt. Terry Seelig, Honolulu Fire Department spokesman, said a company was called at 3:15 a.m. to a brush fire on Lualualei Naval Road near Mohihi Road; two other fires were nearby. Between then and 5 a.m. firefighters were summoned to areas near Paakea, Mokiawe and Helelua streets; another fire was found close to Paakea Street.
No one was injured and no homes were at risk.
