A minor quake off the coast off Hawaii island this morning did not pose a tsunami threat.

A minor earthquake off the coast of Hawaii island early this morning posed no tsunami threat to the rest of the state.

The 3.8 magnitude quake struck 22 miles southeast of Pahala at 3:10 a.m. at a depth of 26.5 miles, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

The temblor did not prompt an advisory from the Pacific Tsunami Warning Center.
