No charges yet for deputy sheriff, officer in sex assault cases

A 44-year-old deputy sheriff is free while police continue to investigate allegations of sexual assault.

The 15-year employee of the Department of Public Safety was released Thursday pending further investigation into allegations of first-degree sexual assault.

The suspect was arrested near Straub Medical Center at 4:15 p.m.Wednesday.

The Department of Public Safety is conducting its own internal investigation.

Charges are still pending against Windward area patrol officer Jessie Laconsay, a 10-year Honolulu Police Department veteran, who was arrested Wednesday in Mokuleia for allegedly sexually assaulting a teenage girl.

Laconsay remains hospitalized. A news report said he had cuts to his wrist.

Just wondering, how come we don’t have a mug picture and name of the sheriff yet? The HPD suspect name was news even before he got arrested. Oh and how come ESPERO comments about Hpd, but is hush about his own State officer? Hmmmmmmmmmmm.

We females do not feel safe out here and want the federal authorities to take over HPD until order and integrity can be restored. Scary out here

If I was the Public Defender for these two scumbags, I would move for a change of venue to Santa Clara County and hope that the presiding Judge is Aaron Persky. If that was to come to fruition, 6 months max. Easy peasy! BUT Hawaii Courts and Judges normally don’t do their jobs and let criminals walk or issue VERY light sentences.
