Hawaii Employers Council has named Toby Taniguchi chairman of its board of governors for 2017. Taniguchi is president and chief operating officer of KTA Super Stores. Also elected to serve three year terms on the board effective Jan. 1 are: Joe Bradley, Kurt Fey, Jan Harada, Janna Nakagawa, Paul Naso, Michael Nolan, Bruce Rosen, Paul Saito, Joyce Tamori, Michael Yamane and Glenn Yamashita.

Outrigger Hotels and Resorts has appointed the following management employees:

>> Gana Maheshwaran is the general manager of the Kiahuna Plantation Resort Kauai by Outrigger rental program. He was previously the acting general manager of Outrigger’s largest rental program. Maheshwaran also has worked at the Sheraton Kauai Resort, Westin Kauai Resort and Embassy Vacation Resorts.

>> Mitch Yokoyama is the assistant general manager at Hokulani Waikiki by Hilton Grand Vacations Club. He was previously the housekeeping manager at Hilton Grand Vacations at Hilton Hawaiian Village. Yokoyama is fluent in Japanese and first served as a guest service agent (linguist) for the Hilton. Before Hilton, he worked as a passenger service agent for Japan Airlines Passenger Service of America.
