Freshman opposite Rado Parapunov came off the bench for a match-high 10 kills and No. 4 Hawaii won its 13th straight, sweeping No. 14 USC, 25-13, 25-15, 25-18 in a nonconference volleyball match at the Stan Sheriff Center tonight.
It was the 17th consecutive home victory dating back to last season for the Rainbow Warriors (18-2), as well as their eighth sweep in a row. Hawaii also ran its consecutive-sets-won streak to 26.
With the match not counting in Mountain Pacific Sports Federation play, both teams used it as a chance to give reserves playing time.
Freshman opposite Aaron Strange had six kills for the Trojans (6-11).
Hawaii, the top blocking team in the country, finished with 14. Sophomore middle Dalton Solbrig was in on six and freshman middle Patrick Gasman four.
