Honolulu’s newest off-leash dog park is now open

An off-leash dog park opened up in the recently renovated Aala Park in Honolulu. City officials, dog owners and their pooches gathered on Monday, March 11, 2019, for a blessing to officially open the park.

The newest off-leash dog park on Oahu has opened in Aala Park with separate sections for small and large dogs, in an approximately 10,000 square foot area. Ginger, one of Barbara Abe’s dogs, familiarized herself with the dog park Monday, above.

Mayor Kirk Caldwell participated in the blessing of the next dog park Monday. The blessing was officiated by Misty Kelai, executive director of the Mayor’s Office of Culture and the Arts, next to Caldwell.
