Champion doubled home Zack Swasey with two outs in the fifth to help Hawaii (28-18, 8-4 Western Athletic Conference) move into sole possession of first place in the WAC.

David Longville (2-2) retired all eight batters he faced to earn the win in relief of Scott Squier, who allowed seven hits and two walks with four strikeouts in 4 1/3 innings.

Michael Ormseth (7-1) lost his first decision for the Aggies (30-17, 7-5) who have dropped six in a row after winning 30 of their first 41 games.
