A fire damaged a residential structure behind a Thai restaurant in Wailuku.

Maui fire official said the fire was reported at 11:54 a.m. Thursday at 2119 Vineyard St.

Firefighters first arrived at the Saeng Thai Restaurant at 11:59 a.m., found the burning house and brought the blaze under control at 12:03 p.m.

The fire was confined to a bedroom in the 25-foot by 25-foot structure.

The cause of the fire is undetermined at this time, but is likely was accidental, a fire official said.

Damage to the structure is estimated at $12,000, and $3,000 to its contents. No injuries were reported.
