After two days of deliberation

A Wahiawa man convicted in the highway shooting death of a mother of 10 is expected to learn his sentence.

Toby Stangel is scheduled to be sentenced today.

A jury found him guilty of second-degree murder in May. Jurors also found him guilty of second-degree attempted murder for shooting and injuring a woman on the H-1 freeway and for shooting at a man at the start of the early morning 2011 rampage. He was found guilty of reckless endangering for firing at two police officers and a man shot in the thigh on the freeway.

The jury couldn’t agree on whether he deserved an extended term of life in prison without parole.

Prosecutors are expected to ask for consecutive life sentences.

The judge will make the final decision.
