In addition to mufflers — the product most in Hawaii know Midas Hawaii for — and brakes, Midas also provides “preventive auto maintenance services
(including new car service intervals), suspension, fast and convenient oil changes, alignments, climate control, tune-ups, fluid flushes and tires,” says Pereira.
Unfortunately, Bob’s brother and co-owner Tony Pereira passed away in 2010, which was a huge loss for Midas Hawaii. Bob’s wife, Dianne Pereira, stepped up in a big way after Tony’s passing, and her involvement with the company expanded greatly to fill a void that Tony left behind. While Dianne has been doing the company’s advertising since the late
’90s, today she serves as Midas Hawaii’s marketing and advertising director.
Together, Dianne and Bob expanded Midas Hawaii further by adding two new shops under the Midas Corporation name called SpeeDee Oil Change, where Hawaii residents can enjoy quick and high-quality oil changes. SpeeDee Oil Change shops in both Waipahu and Wahiawa “employs the latest technology and processes to create the quickest oil change with the best customer experience possible,” says Dianne.

“experience,” convenience and quick service. Additional complimentary services available while getting your oil changed include vacuuming your vehicle and washing your windows. The second SpeeDee Oil Change held its grand re-opening in Wahiawa in December 2013, and is run by a well-managed team and great staff who keep the customer’s experience as top priority.
While customers can now have many services completed at Midas Hawaii as well as SpeeDee Oil Change locations, Midas continues to work on more brakes than any other shop in Hawaii. “Our brake pads and shoes come with a lifetime guarantee, which means that once you’ve purchased them, you will never need to pay for replacements again, as long as you keep your car,” adds Bob.
On top of sales, value and a wide variety of services you can receive at Midas Hawaii, know that the company also is focused on giving back to its surrounding communities by sponsoring numerous charitable events. One of the organizations
Midas helps is the Ronald McDonald House Charities. “Every year we hold a golf tournament in memory of Antonio Pereira III (Bob’s brother), and the proceeds go to the Ronald McDonald House Charities,” says Dianne.
As part of the business’ motivation to put the “customer first,” Midas caters to modern consumers by allowing patrons to not only search for information on the company’s website, but to even go as far as book appointments as well view videos and other material to educate them on their cars’ care and maintenance needs.

She adds that many “online only” offers are posted on the website as well as events going on that customers can find only on the website.
