Hawaii island police are searching for a 19-year-old Hilo man wanted for questioning in a kidnapping investigation involving an adult female.

The police are asking for the public’s help in locating David John Erlenbach who is described as 5 feet 11 inches tall, 170 pounds, with brown eyes and black hair. Erlenbach is known to wear eyeglasses and has a Japanese symbol tattoo on his left shoulder and his date of birth tattooed in Roman numerals on his chest, police said. He resides in the Hilo area.
